Wyatt McDonald practiced archery until he had mastered the art form. He decided to use his skills to become a costumed adventurer and called himself Hawkeye. Hawkeye was the first recruit of the Squadron Supreme. He was expelled from the Squadron for using the behavior modification machine on Lady Lark. Joining Nighthawk's Redeemers as the Black Archer. When the Redeemers fought the Squadron the Black Archer shot an arrow at his best friend Doctor Spectrum. The arrow hit Spectrum's Power Prism showering Doctor Spectrum with fragments and removing all pigment from him and his costume. Blue Eagle saw this and hit the Black Archer in the back of the head with a mace. A few hours later the Black Archer died in surgery.
